Aim of Course:

  • Assessment Principles: Understanding the fundamental principles and practices of assessment, including validity, reliability, and fairness.
  • Legislation and Policies: Familiarization with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures governing assessments in the education and training sector.
  • Assessment Methods: Learning various assessment methods and tools, such as observation, questioning, and written assessments, to evaluate learners’ competence.
  • Feedback and Reporting: Providing constructive feedback to learners and stakeholders based on assessment outcomes, as well as documenting and reporting assessment results.
  • Quality Assurance: Understanding and implementing quality assurance processes to ensure the consistency and reliability of assessments.
  • Record-Keeping: Developing skills in maintaining accurate and comprehensive records of assessments, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Ethical Considerations: Emphasizing ethical considerations in assessment practices, including confidentiality and impartiality.
  • Practical Application: Practical training and assessment exercises to allow participants to apply the acquired knowledge and skills in real-world scenarios.

In compliance with regulatory guidelines set forth by all SETAs (Sector Education and Training Authorities) and PSIRA (Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority), all students must undertake their summative assessments, which are closed book exams, at the designated training centre as prescribed.
