Business Firearms Training: Handle & Use a Manually Operated Rifle or Carbine

This unit standard applies to persons who will through the application of knowledge of the current legislation, carry, handle, shoot and maintain a rifle or carbine for business purposes.
In compliance with regulatory guidelines set forth by all SETAs (Sector Education and Training Authorities) and PSIRA (Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority), all students must undertake their summative assessments, which are closed book exams, at the designated training centre as prescribed.
PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD:
A person credited with this unit standard will be able to:
- Demonstrate knowledge of safe handling principles in a business environment
- Demonstrate knowledge of the mechanical functioning of the manually operated rifle or carbine
- Operate a manually operated rifle or carbine in a business environment
- Demonstrate knowledge of manually operated rifle or carbine use under adverse conditions
