Aim of Course:

The purpose of this program is to enable learners to be capable to handle a trained service dog for the specific purpose of protecting the handler and property. The learner will be able to handle the service dog under stressful situations such as attacks to the handler, other people and assets. The learner will also be capable of issuing commands to the service dog, interpreting the service dog’s behaviour and assessing situations in order to take action.

In compliance with regulatory guidelines set forth by all SETAs (Sector Education and Training Authorities) and PSIRA (Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority), all students must undertake their summative assessments, which are closed book exams, at the designated training centre as prescribed.
